Default Where to sell a 1970's Gold Bar Pendant

My mum wants to sell her 1oz gold bar pendant which she was given as a present in the 1970's and has asked me for advice.
Would the best bet be to get it valued in Hatton Garden, then sell it online? I'm not even sure who would buy it, but i've googled it and they're selling for about £1000, but they are new.
As it's vintage, would this be a benefit or not? I'm a bit lost where to start.

    Thanks

    Susie

I would be surprised if you could do better than selling it to Cookson as scrap, Suzie. Dennis.

I think I'd try Hatton Garden Precious Metals or Lois Jewellery - they seem to have the best gold prices at the moment.
