    Default Spinner rings

    Hi

I have to make a spinner ring for a friend and am just trying to figure out metal thickness.
It needs to be 15mm wide to fit the bands on that she wants, would 1mm sheet be suitable for that do you think?
And she wants four flat bands so I was thinking maybe 1.5mm wide by 1mm thick each? or would that be too thick?

I think the weight will be upto your preference Sarah, but you could go down to 0.80mm in thickness if it is to be 15.00mm wide either in gold or silver. Sounds like a splendid project. Looking forward to a pic. Dennis

1mm would be more than adequate. The strength is partly in the shape assuming it will be splayed either end to contain the inner rings.

I made one once with 0.6mm which was what I had to hand to play with, it was very nearly OK, so as Dennis says 0.8mm would be adequate and is what I am planning to make my next one in.
