Rhodium plating machine issues

My rhodium plater is not working! It's turning on and heating up but not actually doing the electrical bit! Ive just tried changing the fuse so it's not that, unless I've bought the wrong one but they are the same voltage it just says quickblow would that make a difference?

I've tried unplugging etc and all the usual things I could think off so I'm at a loss! If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

I had the same problem,I replaced the rectifier and the diodes (the 2 parts with arrows on and the black thing with china written on it) its essentially a battery charging circuit the parts are not to expensive a few pounds there standard components but if your unsure I would get someone who has electrical experience to check it out.

Sorted!! It was the silver wire I was using to conduct to the items causing the problems

Excellent! Since I seem to have failed to post my suggestions on what to do with a voltmeter, it was to test whether there was a potential difference at various points culminating in the anode & cathode. It would have picked up your conductivity issue.

Ah I see! Charlie got me to test the amps etc using silver wire, it's really annoying as I did clean up the wire first but I guess not enough the first time!

Well, to be fair you do have a voltmeter on the front of it...
(And an ammeter)
