Halo Pendant
http://i446.photobucket.com/albums/q...psnsgatdjj.png
I started with a Cad model of the pendant
I was using a green stone and white stones for the halo, I cadded the pendant in two parts so I could use white gold for the Halo and yellow gold for the center stone as this makes the white look whiter and the green look greener

I cast the parts in 18ct gold

I took this picture using a loupe on my phone to try and get a close up

I was checking to see what size stone I need for the halo In the cad they were 1.3 mm after the shrinkage of casting they worked out at 1.25mm its better to get the stones to fit tightly together
I soldered the parts together after polishing everything up as some parts are hard to get to when assembled also the holes for the stones were opened up with the corresponding ball burr

I used a thermolock to hold the pendant so I could cut the setting for the stones

setting cut ready to fit stones. I used a ball burr and a cylinder burr to cut inbetween the holes

Halo stones all set

Main stone set it a nice Peridot just over a carat, I tried to make the claws 'pointy' so they were a bit individual

All finished and in a box its a present for a friend

***Edit*** I have worked it out but can only add 4 pics in one post so I picked them randomly !

Mmm but you can post a second post as 'Part Two', by using 'Reply'. Be good to see your finished pendant in close up, Joseph.

I will do that next time thanks Dennis, It was late on and wine was involved I was quite proud of myself getting four pictures on to be honest! The pendants gone to its new home unfortunately so I cant take a close up, but I will take some better pictures if I do another one

That's a pro job, Josef & even better for the improved image.

Simply stunning work Josef!
Regarding how the pendant hangs, does the chain loop through one of the 'slots' that could be seen on the original CAD screenshot?

Yes, beautifully done Josef. I bet it looks stunning on.
-
Thanks, Yes the chain just loops through its away from the stone and seems to hang straight
