The eveflex burrs can be quite useful and come in lots of different sizes, but can you not wrap fine wet/dry paper around something (a pen, toothpick, needle file handle, whatever) and see what happens?

A pendant drill felt mop will work well with tripoli compound and rouge, see;http://www.cooksongold.com/Jewellery...prcode-999-CBM

If it's particularly rough inside, you could start off with these: http://www.cooksongold.com/category_...ry=ROLL+SANDER
Cooksons sell them in 240, 400 and 600 grit, but you can get them in finer grades from Sutton Tools and a few other places: http://old.suttontools.co.uk/roll-sanders.html
Thanks all - I think I'll have to try some sandpaper on a cocktail stick or similar - the ID is only 6mm so don't think the others will fit !
Thanks for the suggestions.
If you've got a felt point - per James' suggestion - and it doesn't fit, then you can work them down on an old file until it does.
I have the mandrel in the link. It takes different grade polishing drums that are only 3mm in diameter. They will fit inside your tankard very easily, and both buff and polish its interior.

IF you have a pendant motor with an adjustable chuck, another method is to use a cotton bud dipped in silver polish, rouge paste or any other abrasive paste depending on the level of finish required.
You may need to cut the bud to a shorter length to avoid it 'whipping' when spinning at higher speeds.
That is some great info thank you.
I will look at adding the mandrel to my next order and love the idea of using a cotton bud!
Id use a split mandrel with whatever grade of sandpaper is needed, threaded onto it. Use a slimline mandrel of course.
