    Default Hallmarked scrap silver

Can anyone recommend a dealer who will take hallmarked silver items for scrap?
I tried Cookies but they only deal with unhallmarked items.
I have lots of odd napkin rings and bit and pieces from my late in-laws.
Have tried to sell them but proving a long job. Just want them out of way now!
    Thanks

I include hallmarked items in my Cookies scrap pot every time I send it in. It has to be assayed in the usual way, but I've never had any problem.

Otherwise Hatton Garden Metals are usually a pretty good bet and pay very promptly.

(the silver scrap price is pretty pants at the moment though!)

Lao will unmark your marked items (they strike the mark through) and last time I was told this (by steve) it was free

Theresa, take a trip to Hatton Garden with your silver, I am sure that Cooksons or other buyers in the area will buy your hallmarked silver. I told a friend to do this and he went to Cooksons with some hallmarked silver he had been given, and they just weighed it and offered a price which he accepted. Silver should be around 30p. per gram at the moment.
