    Default Saving The Planet.

There was a time when those who cared, oxidised their silver with the yolks of eggs, so avoiding toxic compounds.
    Sadly no more it seems.

A directive from Brussels which takes effect on May 1st will ban the sale of eggs with their yolks in place, as they are deemed too high in sulphur content.
Egg suppliers will have to extract the yolks and dispose of them safely, leaving just the whites. This extra process will be reflected in the price of course, all for a greener planet.

The trick is to get the hens to produce them separately; my girls have been laying yolkless whites and whiteless yolks for some time....

Short-sighted Scotsman to a baker: Is that a doughnut, or a meringue?
    Baker: You’re right—it’s a doughnut.
You may not get this unless you are Scottish
