    I have used that to my advantage and filed down the other side to match, looks quite attractive and of course is smooth to wear.

    I've experimented and found two things. The rectangular wire I ordered was lightly scratched, but easy enough to file out. The sheet I had cut to the same size was indeed pinched on one side, took slightly longer to file. However, it came with the blue plastic so no scratches on the surface.

    Plus ... when there was no sale on the cut sheet actually worked out slightly cheaper than the wire of exactly the same dimensions. Go figure!

    Dear Stacey,
    Although the two products are similar, sheet is produced by rolling in a mill, whereas rectangular wire is made by drawing down through a drawplate.
    It's a fact of life that bullion dealers charge more for wire. Regards, Dennis.
