This is a wedding ring I finally finished before Christmas, it was a huge challenge as I hadn't made one like this before and it took me a very long time to complete but I think it's stunning! The engagement ring is the customers own, I just redid the claws. I hope it's not against the rules of the competition as I didn't set the stones myself they were set by the very lovely Chris!

Bloody Nora that is something else!
Here's my germ of an idea ...
I've recently tried to up my game a little to try setting stones other than flush-set; also to try to add some creativity to my pieces that are too often quite simple: I think this still is.
Motivated by seeds and growth, I've chosen this piece for this month's competition, with the emerald representing both. I've deliberately set the stone on the cusp of a wave on this sterling silver scroll pendant to give a dynamic feel to the piece and to represent not only the seed launching into life, but also vulnerability.
To limit the vulnerability of the stone to snag, during excursions in the real world, it sits in a small silver boat to protect the point. A standard 1mm chain will be threaded through the scroll. This is also one of my first attempts at a matt finish. At least, one that remains; I've often not been satisfied and then stripped it back and polished. Would welcome your thoughts on how this fits with the stone.
Hope you like.

Thats nice, and the stone looks lovely too. How did you learn to do things like that, well done.
A literal interpretation by me. Curved pendant of a new shiny shoot (although the acid etch was a new experiment, I took the pattern from patterns on the moon's surface)
Etched silver, 9ct gold, reticulated silver and sapphire.
The last shot is a bit blurry, but is there to show the shape.
Edited for spelling gaff.
