    Default Watch repairs

Back in August 2015 I asked if anyone knew of a watch maker that could repair an old watch given to me by an elderly family friend about 60 years ago. He claimed his father had made it along with a few others which I had a choice of. The watch I chose was in a sterling silver case and I wore it to school, so it had quite a hard life while in my possession. A couple of months ago my daughter asked if I had any old watches she could alter to a lapel type instead of a wrist watch and I found out this one for her, which she would have to have repaired as it was over 100 years old.
Well she has had the watch repaired, the watchmaker had to make a wheel for the inside, and he said that it was an early Rolex movement but put into a different case, so worth a few hundred pounds.

They said it was made around the turn of the century. Don't think it would be worth a lot but it is quite plain. I will take a photo of it when I get a chance.
