I have an electric convection heater when I'm in. Ahhh you just solved a mystery for me! I've a set of small wooden drawers there, and one of the drawers has swollen shut - your post has reminded me it was full of silica gel packets!

As mentioned in Peter's post, vapour phase inhibitors are good.
You could try Napier VP90 which is available on eBay, Amazon and many gun shops as its used a lot in gun safes and other storage cabinets.
Comes in Sachets. ( see halfway down page)

Hope you get a solution. It's rotten to see equipment deteriorate.

What about an oil filled electric powered radiator, you dont say why you cant have power there during the night. They are quiet and no risk of flame etc. or a night storage heater.

thank you - it's against our regs to leave heaters on overnight (it's an old building with a LOT of timber and eccentric power supply!)
