Default Best method for achieving a satin finish on sterling?

    Hi Guys

I have been experimenting with trying to get a nice matte/satin/brushed finish on Sterling. I have tried steel wheel and cup brushes with my dremel, abrasive rubber bits also and I have some of the Cookson flick mops to try. I was wondering if anyone would reccommend ceramic tumber media, or any other method I have not yet considered?

    Thanks!

Oh no, haven't used any burrs yet so don't have any, but I might give it a try, thanks!

a brass wire wheel is a nice finish and not as severe as a steel one, one of the retractable fibreglass pencil brushes they used to clean circuit boards gives a nice soft finish too, but it's a bit time consuming.

just thought of something else aswell an ink rubber but it will on give a very fine satin finish we used to use the typwriter ones at college shaped like a pencil and twist them to give a circular shape

Just wet and dry paper works for me. I also use 80 grit paper for a really deep lined satin finish, sweeping it in one direction only http://www.flickr.com/photos/ominicc...7616667849823/

Scouring pad (the green ones- I think similar to what Jason is refering to). Coarse sandpaper can be fun. Flick wheels are nice too.
