    Default Anticlastic cuff

Forming silver into cuffs/bracelets/earrings etc is what I really like doing.
Keep getting sidetracked with small things when all I want to do is bash metal!
Bought a new book - Creative metal forming by Longhi & Eid. Lots of inspiration.
This is my first piece from the book. I'm going to be occupied for some time to come!Click image for larger version.

Love it - and it is a good book, isn't it?

My studio is at the opposite end from neighbours, so hopefully they don't hear too much!
The book is fabulous, wish I had bought it years ago.

That's really lovely Theresa. I bought the book earlier in the year but my hammering hours are very limited as I have baby grandchildren in residence. Am so looking forward to my evening class re-starting.

What thickness metal did you start with?

    I love the shape Theresa

Ooh how exciting, I've just realised that's one of the 3 books that are on the way from Amazon US. It was a third of the price doing it that way. Now I can't wait on it to arrive!

Nice bashing Theresa - lovely shape - and another book for my wishlist...

By the way, I never responded to your comment ages ago re "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance". I read it again recently 30+ years after first picking it up and was surprised to find it still just as good. In fact, what prompted me to re-read it was another book - "The Truth about Art: Reclaiming Quality" by Patrick Doorly, in which he equates his notion of excellence in art with Pirsig's Quality in "Zen and the Art of..." It's a fascinating read and I'd recommend it to anyone who aspires to excellence - in art or any other field.

I used .8mm Argentium and made earrings with the cut off pieces.
Next time I will use sterling silver.

That's from where I bought it too Caroline. Best prices if you don't mind the long wait!
