Default Lost an old friend last week

Not sure if any of you knew Alan Mudd the enameller, he taught enamelling at college and masterclasses at various locations. Well after fighting illness he lost the battle last week on 23rd.June.
Alan was one of this countries finest enamellers and he enamelled many of my pieces and will be surely missed.
The butterflies were the last job he enamelled for me.

Sorry about your friend James, but yes death happens. Sounds callous I know, but that's why it's so important to train youngsters to follow on. Dennis.

Its a shame when you lose a friend James, especially one as talented as he clearly was.
At least you not only have the memories of knowing him, but also his beautiful enamelling. I agree with Dennis, its important to train youngsters, not only with contemporary skills, but traditional skills too.

I actually made that fish slice in the V&A collection, for Alan, it was his design and enamel work.

This was one of the best pieces he enamelled for me, also my photos of his fish slice.

Sorry to hear of the loss of such a talented man.
Annoyed to see the piece is 'in storage'.
What is the point of having beautiful objects when they are hidden away?
