The thing I like about twitter is that if you follow someone who you think is interesting, you can see who they follow, so opening up lots more people who may be of interest to you. That's how I tend to find people to follow. I'm gpjewellery on twitter if anyone is interested x

The sooner Twitter fizzles out like Myspace is doing, the better as far as I'm concerned. It's the biggest load of twaddle I've come across and most people simply don’t care to know what anyone else is up to! For social marketing it is much better to put your effort into forums and Facebook.

I like Twitter, but I don't follow many, and I don't think it would be
    good for advertising.

DansData (lots of geeky (and Lego) stuff)
Stephen Fry (quiet now, busy in season)
Simon Mayo (only because of his (now deceased) Radio5 programme, but still nicely balanced
between promoting his R2 programme and domestic detail)
Wittertainment (best radio of the week. BBC - BBC Radio 5 live Programmes - Kermode and Mayo's Film Review )

People must care what others are up to as there are millions of Twitter users, including me

Doesn't do a great deal for me to be honest, I have a page - nice and customised, but the only real thing I like about it is that it adds a bit of dimensionality to my blog (despite the fact I've not used it for around 6 months!). I can understand the appeal, but I must be getting old
