Latest bangle (prototype)

I do love a bit of anticlastic hammering - very good for relieving stress (well, it is for the one doing the hammering).

This started out as an idea for a wavy edged bangle, folded over in the middle in as tight a crease as I could manage. I pierced a 0.7mm copper strip with wavy edges (wishing I had shears to cut it) and soldered together into a round. Then hammered, annealed, hammered, annealed, etc., on an anticlastic stake until I could rawhide hammer it flat along the middle seam. Hmm. Hated it. Not at all like I imagined, so I set about opening it up again and undulating the wavy edges. Better, but a bit boring. So added scrap silver balls of differing sizes, starting with hard solder for the larger balls, medium solder for the medium sized ones and finishing off with easy solder for the small ones.

I like it now and it's something that I'll wear, so will make again in silver. I have a suitable size piece of reflections silver am thinking of using as otherwise fire scale may be a problem; and pearls on soldered posts instead of the silver balls.

And of course, a much better finish to the bangle than on this one.
