Thank you, I appreciate your humour too!

Thanks for the photography tips too, you are right about photos not showing everything about a piece.

I am definitely here to stay and hope to get enough experience and knowledge to be able to help future beginners too.

I'm not familiar with that stone Beadjoux, you've made a nice job of it!!

In terms of constructive critique, I can see the join between your bezel and the flat sheet, (lower side/ underneath view). If I'm making a rub over setting for a cabochon, I shape and fit the bezel to the stone and solder. Drop it onto some sheet (a bit larger than required). Then pierce and file back to a seamless join. Once soldered to the shank, the seams might need a slight buff so that you can't see them, before polishing.

Wish I could have made that in my early days!!

Hi Annaliese, absolutely agree with Jill about making the bezel and then sitting it on a slightly larger sheet. The one step that can make a lot of difference is to sit the bezel flat on a big file and the rub it gently along to ensure the bottom edge is completely flat. It's a bit of a knack but does make a world of difference.
Good luck with the next, and the next, and the next!
