    Default ring sizing

HI, I have been asked to make a silver ring for a friend, it will be a broad band , but I currently only have the regular ring gauges and no funds at present to buy some of the wedding band ones, we cant find a similar ring to fit him that I could measure, . I wondered if there is some kind of rule/formula for working out the sizes as when I measured a similar ring I wear it was approx 2 sizes bigger than my finger measured on the standard ring gauge ? would it work if I took his measurement with the gauge I have and went up 2 sizes? I would appreicate your comments thanks

    Dear carrie,
You can use this ring size calculator, but if entering English sizes, don't forget to use upper case letters. Dennis

That's really helpful. I've got a chart that shows different lengths required as the thickness increases but it doesn't allow for the width of the band. Thank you Dennis; always so helpful.
