Default Theme Competition March 2015 - Celebration

    Hello Everyone,

This month has already seen a few celebrations in our office, from engagements, to birthdays to new arrivals and so we thought we would get you to share your celebratory pieces in this month's competition; so this month's theme is CELEBRATION!

Whether literally a champagne glass or something you made to celebrate an event, send in your celebration pieces before the end of the month!

The winner will get a £100 Cooksongold shopping spree!

So get creating, making and entering!

    Good luck!

    Default A Birthday Badge.

The invitation said: You are invited to Ruth’s 60th birthday party.

Some brought flowers, some brought wine, but I spent time to make this badge, thinking it would be fun for her to wear during the party.

However when I arrived, she took one look at it, glared at me and said: I don’t want to be reminded of my age.

This happened a long time ago, when I still recorded my work on a photocopier. It is not meant to compete, but it fits in and I thought you might like the story. Dennis

This piece was made to celebrate me getting a workspace back (amongst other things). It is the sun coming round the earth and celebrating a new day. As pointed out to me it would also be quite pertinent for this month's eclipse. So I give you

Hi, I have decided to be brave and enter this month's competition - although I know you are all so much better and more experienced than me - I'm just going to go for it anyway (thanks for the encouragement to do so Dennis and Vos). I know some of you have seen this already, as I panicked part way through and asked for your advice! My entry is in celebration of the spring equinox this month. It is a flight of fancy. The equinox hare, at the equinox the hare travels to the sun and stays there until the autumn equinox, when it returns to the moon, with the fire of the sun in its eyes and moonbeams on its back, to sustain it and the moon through the long dark winter. - also, it was good for a little experience at sweat soldering (the ear), saw piercing and riveting.

I do like jewellery with a lot of movement, love the symbology too!

As for everyone being better, your piercing knocks mine out the park... Just saying
