    Think they're on paper Jill. Same principle as if you take a paper doily and run it through your rolling mill; for best results sandwich the design between work hardened copper on top, paper in the middle and then annealed metal on the bottom. Paper patters can generally only be used once as the paper flattens as it goes through the mill.

    Yes, you can get a whole sheet of the same design. I got her to cut a musical score design but a lot of the detail didn't come out properly. You have to be sure it's a bold design.

    My entry for this month's competition......love birds in a pierced oval with a fresh water pearl. The pendant articulates on the bail, the birds tails and the pearl cap are made of 9ct gold. The pearl cap is a domed disc, filed in to shape to give detail with a 3 square needle file and has a small jump ring soldered on the top and a straight 'pin' of wire (textured to increase adhesion) which goes in to the pearl......
