Default Faintly embarrassing phone call from the assay office

I had to send a handful of pieces for hallmarking this week. I got a missed call from LAO, and immediately started having kittens worrying if something had gone wrong.
No, but eedjit here had sent 4 resin-filled items, with pieces of meteorite in (correctly guessed by chap at assay office, well done), and had not considered that of course, they count as whopping great pieces of metal, so needed part marking. It didn't even cross my mind when sending them off, and if I'd not been in such a rush, would have sent the silver prior to the resin & meteorite fragments, so would have inadvertently been naughty (as far as marking goes).
"The resin is fine....now these lumps of metal poking out...."

Lol! I wouldn't have thought of it either!
Incidentally, was that laser marking or stamping? I was wondering whether you could laser the back of a resin item?

Would love to know the oddest thing you've had set Steve. I've been asked to do gravel, teeth and a piece of stone retrieved from a cat's stomach...

Not Steve 'til Monday, but I did set a coin retrieved from a child's stomach via the natural route. I bought some ribbon and made it into a medal.

My picture is scanned in from an old print and name obscured. Dennis.

I can see an interstellar Jurassic Park, where Steve's lazer engraver rekindles a lifeform in Lydia's meteorite. Ok I watched to much The Invaders as a kid ...
