Hi, Iv been asked to set some 2mm round garnet stones into a silver pre made channel set ring and I haven't a clue how to set them,any yelp would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You'll need to get a clue
That means understanding the theory & having a plan of attack.

Not to mention some practice upfront..you might need to find a local setter for the time being.
I don't fancy writing an essay on the basics.

Yes, echoing Chris, buy half a dozen of the same ring blanks and practise with CZs until you feel confident you can do it well enough to earn money from it.
