Default Theme Competition January 2015 - Happiness

    Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year to you all. We hope you had a lovely time over the festive season and are ready for a new year full of creativity and jewellery making!

As everyone is watching the pennies and their waistlines in January, it can be a tough month; so to combat this, this month's themed competition is HAPPINESS!

So get those happy faces on and submit your entries before the end of the month.

The winner will get a £100 Cooksongold shopping spree...what a way to start the year.

So get creating, making and entering!

    Good luck!

No entries yet, so I thought I would start the ball rolling. This is a ring I have made for my wife for our 45th. wedding anniversary, if that counts as happiness.
Made from 18ct. sheet and wire with 18ct. white gold tube filed into claw settings which are set with a diamond and six sapphires.

That's very fine indeed James. Beautiful
and very contemporary looking too. How'd you achieve the texture in the centre if you don't mind me asking?

I used what is called a line tool scorper Nick, it's a scorper with grooves along the cutting face.

Nick, I took this photo of one of my unshaped Glardon Vallorbe scorper/ line tools this morning to try and show the line pattern on it's cutting face.
