    Red face Protecting copper

Hi there, Could anyone tell me the best coating/laquer to put on copper jewellery to prevent tarnish?

    Thanks!

Hello blingthing, I don't use much copper, but tend to have quite good results with Renaissance Wax.

I was recently told about Everbrite, by a friend who also uses it on sterling, especially earrings and she swears it beats sliced bread a thousand times over (don't know what sliced bread would do for copper...), but I haven't tried it yet. A bit tempted though; it would be interesting to hear from someone who has tried it.

Yep I use everbrite, it's easy and you can't even tell it's on there.

They seem to suggest you put it on with a cloth. Wouldn't a brush be better? Dennis.

Yep I abandoned the cloth & used a brush. I think the cloth application is more suited to the products intentional use which is to protect the shine on large outdoor architectural pieces
