I love that, the colours and the texture. Why wouldn't anyone want to wear fish?

Well the patina on brass is achieved by painting on vinegar, sprinkling salt, and dripping on ammonia. I'm not sure the order matters.
The coarser the salt the more the liquids gather around it to create an uneven result, or texture.
In this case, I used ammonia soaked sawdust to give an even coarser result. It is done in a closed plastic box to avoid the fumes and took about three hours to develop.
Ultimately it was all washed away and dried before the lacquer was sprayed on.
Much to the disgust of my fellow students I suggested that used cat litter would do the same, as ammonia develops in it. Dennis.
fish, salt and vinegar - never seen them look so good together - but best worn rather than eaten
