Default Coin Rings from 2 Shilling coins - Nickel content?

I recently made my Mum a ring from a 1944 2 shilling coin for her 70th Birthday. I loved making this and thought I may start making a few to sell, but I'm not sure I can legally do this with the post 1920 coins as these are only 50% silver and the ones after 1947 are made from cupronickel?? Ive seen people selling these but just not sure of the nickel content of the coins? Any help would be appreciated.

The best person to speak to would be at the Royal mint.....they're really helpful. If you email Gwyn Roberts: Gwyn.Roberts@royalmint.com he will be able to give you all the spec on the metal content of the coins, and what you are and aren't allowed to do with them.
