The spiders I've seen in my house could certainly be considered animals!!!

Ok, taking a slight chance here as not sure if dragons count as animals, what with not being real and all! Will await the judge's verdict on that one...

In the mean time, here's the detail and story behind the piece:

On the tech side, it is made in 2mm sterling silver with the design put on using a hammer and gravers, plus a small punch for the background texturing. The chain is a silver plated item supplied by the client.

The story behind it is that a the client commissioned having seen some of the aluminium bracelets I had done, indeed it was originally intended to be made in aluminium. Then someone mentioned the "s-word" and off we went down that road... This piece represents a few firsts for me: first pendant, first piece in silver, first attempt at silver soldering, first dealings with the Assay Office... sometimes think I shouldn't be allowed out alone!!

What do you mean, dragons aren't real? Another dream shattered All the entries so far have been lovely.

Last month, after having been interested in bats for most of my life, I joined the local bat group and my life since then has been a constant whirl of bat walks, talks and surveys. Of course, all this activity had to be carried into my jewellery work as well.

This necklace is sterling silver with the bats patinated to a grey colour.
