I did post this link on the question about engraving as it shows a craftsman using small chisels for carving, I am starting a new post in case anyone interested missed it
These are Ford Hallam's YouTube films on making a Tsuba, he shows the methods of using hammer cutting gravers as used by the old Japanese craftsmen to achieve good low relief carvings. Some may find it a good method to try on jewellery.
