    Lightbulb Home business insurance

Sorry to ask this but I seem to be hitting my head off a brick wall.
I'm looking at working from home and currently looking at business insurance however keep being told, can't quote as previius metals are high risk.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a problem in general with jewellery making?
Can anyone advise or point me in the right direction.
    Many thanks in advance
    Vicky

    Hi Vicky,
You've now asked this twice on another forum. I'd give you the same answer here that I already have there, but I'm bored now.

Appologies but I didn't know you were on both forums. Thank you for your info on the other forum

Not sure which other forum you're referring to, nor what info you've been given, so apologies if I'm telling you the same thing, but you might like to contact an insurance company that specialises in the jewellery trade...someone like TH March, who seem to be well known in the trade? Maybe they can give you better advice than a "general" insurance company who often get scared when you mention the "g" or "s" words?

I don't work from home but my studio and stock are covered with Ian Wallace craft insurance.

Thanks SteveLAO, it was craft forum uk, and advice was to join Guild of Jewellery designers. I thought I'd get more soecific insurance advice here covering precious metals, which you have given me. I shall have a look at TH March. Many thanks Vicky
