Ok, so a possibly dim question but I want it to be clear in my head before I make a recommendation - why is 9ct considered harder/more durable than silver? With 37.5% of gold (which is soft) and most of the rest being silver (which scratches easily) how is 9ct any more durable than silver? I know it will tarnish slightly less quickly as gold doesn't tarnish, but I'm thinking about how well the engraving will last. Confused...
