    These days, unless you have a cheap source, I can buy drills direct from the manufacturer abroad in bulk far cheaper than I could buy needles here - plus the saving in man-hours to convert them...

    That's really interesting James......I don't remember seeing that before, how long did it used to take you to make a drill bit?

    Just picked up this thread because I was using a setting burr when it started 'screaming' & nearly deafened me!
    I cleaned them, made sure they were lubricated, varied the speeds but couldn't get to the bottom of it.
    Does anyone know what causes this dreadful noise?
