The price for a bespoke piece of work was enough we didn't get that far
Ah we all know that one. Most recently, I got asked for a 1mm thick, 40mm x 6 inch silver cuff with a custom etch. When I sent the quote over, the guy told me he 'was hoping to pay £40'. *Cries*.
I'm not too bothered, I need it for he OS this weeknd and it would have broken up the sets of spoons. I looked at the exchange rate and he would have been paying a couple of hundred Canadian dollars but as he wanted a piece of jewellery in the first place he was looking at a Lot more than that, my spoons are about my cheapest item
It was for his 84 year old Mum whose family had originally come from my home town but he wasn't seeing the investment value of the piece in that case and the fact he would have been able too inherit it for himself.
Too much to do this week to be bothered but it was half an hour of my time when he thought I was ' busy but seemed to be having fun ' eh wouldn't call it that in this stage of the game when he wanted it for a couple of weeks time.!
I wasn't particularly laughing at midnight last night Liz but now just shaking my head, his timing was thoughtless when he knows how busy I am for the weekend. But hey he's not the first and don't suppose will be the last, good job he didn't ask me to price a necklace but then of course as he said i seem to be having fun !
