    Default Display furniture

Does anyone have any suggestions on preferred suppliers for clear & frosted acrylic display furniture? I'm after an assortment - blocks, earring stands & the likes - in simple shapes, nothing elaborate (so no butterflies!). Looked on Ebay, but sorting the wheat from the chaff is tedious.

I got a lot of mine from here Peter, http://www.boxdisplays.co.uk/display...ylic-113-c.asp, but a lot of what I got no longer seems to be available, Talbot group have lovely display items, but don't do acrylic (I use the black gloss), I've had some from boxes and busts, but again I can't see the blocks etc,....The other place I've used is here http://www.morplan.com/shop/en/morplan/display---vm (ignore the acrylic flower!!!)!!

Couldn't you just buy the acrylic and make them yourself if you're that fussy, you butterfly hater?! If I recall old art school days, acrylic is very easy to form.

I used to get mine from 3D displays. My most recent stuff I made myself as suggested by Liz. I had rectangles of acrylic cut to size and then I heated them in the oven and bent the bottom back to make them stand up. I then covered squares of aluminium in foam and fabric and velcro'd them on. The beauty of them is that I can leave my stuff pinned on and don't have to re-do it every time I do a show. They fit very nicely in the cube system sold by 3D displays.

I'm only doing 2 shows this year and I think next year I may not do any. My whole house is full of displays and it will be great to be able to get rid of them all.

Sorry to hi-jack thread... Carole, what shows are you doing this year? I am a bit the same, will proabably only do 2 or 3. I am busy as it is with online orders and commissions, and it is quite nice not to have to go anywhere, although I do sometimes miss the social aspect of it!

Back to topic, Peter, these guys are very good if a little pricey... http://www.jewellery-display.co.uk/ (yay, I can now post URLs! )

I like Carole's idea of making your own though!

Ta! 5 posts also gives me a better chance of spotting spammers before they go off on one (although sometimes I do like to play with my food...)

So do I - heat bending acrylic, flame polishing edges - not difficult, but time consuming. As I have 3 month-long exhibitions coming up which are nearly back-to-back, I thought I might cheat slightly.

All mine started as clear blocks, Peter, which are much easier to get. A rub down with a decorators sponge block only takes minutes and they then pass muster as in my album. Dennis.

    Hi Peter,
Westpack do an acrylic collection of display products: http://www.westpack.com/jewellery-displays/

I use their ring display and see that they have a discount on them.

I use clear acrylic square storage jars and lids from Asda They're not so good as earrings stands though.
