    Default Marquise necklace - conquered!

Been struggling to set a large marquise gem. I've had some great advice from both Dennis & James, but ultimately I settled for a bezel setting ( with internal bearer ) to hold the stone as its faceted.

The alternative basket setting was driving me nuts after multiple attempts although I'll get back to it in the future. Not perfect by a long shot but I'm pleased as it's my first attempt at setting a marquise shaped gem.

Very nice - like how the chain complements it too.

Thanks folks, trying to complete pieces with different stone settings as I find doing so is the best way to learn as opposed to simply reading about the theory. Still very much a novice of course, but I'm enjoying the journey :-)

You're right to be pleased with that Nick. The hand made chain brings it all together. Dennis.

Thank you for the encouraging comments everyone.

I know my creations are pretty basic at present but I like to post the odd photo as the items tend to relate to topics I've sought help and advice on via the forum, and to show that I am actually listening as well as learning.
