Modern hard gold gilding is different from our old ways of electro plating......... These days the gold is dissolved in chemicals which when added to distilled water make a gilding solution, the electrode wires have a neutral block of metal .......

Carole, I have read that there are two shades of red gold, of which rose gold is the paler. I think there is magic in the word rose. Maybe plumbers should talk about installing rose plumbing. Dennis.
