18k white, designed, printed and cast by Weston Beamor (already mentioned I could have done the CAD for them...), tourmaline, diamonds.

All I have to do is finish the casting (and I've already had to fill in a couple of ruddy huge holes in it), assemble the head to the casting, set the 10 diamonds there, supply and set another 6 and set the tourmaline. I'm suggesting it would look right with stones all around the setting too, but no bites yet

Oh, and delivery start of next week. Brief is "make it happen".

Peter you said you have to fill in holes, you obviously do it with either silver or gold and this question is really only out of interest, but do you fill the hole with molten metal or put bits of silver/gold in the hole and heat until it melts.

Wire in the cavity, hit the end of it with the laser until it welds. I've been dialling the power up for this - normally the weld is only where you can see, but as I want it welded thoroughly I'm almost splatting the metal into place.

That tourmaline is 7.8x8.9mm BTW. Next task is to get the head & shank to fit together, which will take a bit of tweaking.

Looking forward to seeing it finished.

My question is, why were there holes in it? If I got castings back with holes in, I'd return them. Should I accept holes?

I'm trying to find out - but given the timescales, there's no way this can be ready for next week if we wait for another casting. So... I've fixed it.

I don't believe there should be holes either!
