    Default Newbie....Help Needed

    Hi All!

Myself and my partner are new to the pmc material, we are trying to set up a business and going through testing to try and get use to the material. We are using our 17mth as a guinea pig

We are having trouble getting a decent print. We have used the following methods:

Ink print converted into photo polymer plate

    Finger straight into the clay

Finger into moulding gum then producing a reverse mould.

All seem to have very poor results. Can anyone help? How do you get the best results? I'm not sure if we are setting out standards to high, how visible should the print be in the clay?

    Thank you for your help

    Sean

    hi and welcome,

Prints off toddlers are generally just smudges. I know there are loads of companies who will flog baby prints but the results are rubbish, I've seen them. I do fingerprint jewellery and refuse orders unless the child is at least 3 and the parents can get a clear ink print. Having said that, it seems most parents who buy these things don't actually care, they'll fork out anyway.

That's good to know thank you, I may try the ink route further. I had seen that prints of young children are hard to get.
