Alternatives to jewelry?
What are alternatives for a woman who doesn't like typical metal jewelry? Also, if it's not made from metal, is it still called jewelry?

Hi Dawn and welcome to the forum.
If you visit your library, as I'm sure you have, you will find several books on jewellery that is not made of metal. There is the Bakelite often of art deco design, modern resins and jewellery made of natural materials, such as ivory, teeth, bone horn , wood , berries and seeds. There are also glass, minerals, stones and slate. Finally I can would add of fabric and paper.
I shan't go on, but I suppose any adornment would count as jewellery, except if it is sewn onto clothing, in which case it might be classified as trimmings.
Regards, Dennis
