It is my first time Dennis, it sounds a bit scary to use. Presumably it comes off with wear, will it leave black marks etc on hands when worn, dont want everyone to look as though they need a wash.

It gradually wears off the high, spots Pat, but always looks attractive. I've not seen any stained skin on anyone wearing it. Dennis.
That's good. Would hate to be responsible for black necks etc.
Hi Pat - just saw your posting. I usually put the piece in warm Platinol after tumbling, rinse it, then polish it by hand with a silver cloth very vigorously to shine it up. I then set the stone. It will probably wear away after some time but then even when 'sealed' the same thing will happen. Tho' enough colour will get trapped in the design. I've used it on chains and earrings with no problems.
I find the colour obtained is quite hit and miss, but don't really mind the variations - makes it more interesting.
Presumably it won't hurt most stones.
