    Default Magnifying glass

Anyone here find magnifying glasses are the most indispensible tool?

If you mean those round bi-convex things, sometimes identified with Sherlock Holmes, I would say no. If despite wearing glasses you still struggle to see, I would recommend clip on magnifiers, prescription magnifiers, or a headband magnifier, which move with you. Even quite a cheap one can do the business, but I have never seen the point of illuminated ones.

Please see the link in the thread: Looking For Tiny Rivets, to which I replied this morning. Dennis.

Depends on what you mean by magnifying glasses. I use an optivisor if that's what you mean.

I use an Optivisor too, with my reading glasses underneath. Sometimes I use very strong off the peg glasses on the top of my small reading glasses which works really well, but only having one eye I don't have a focus problem which most will have.

I also wear a pair of "ready readers" under my normal specs when close work is called for, but they do sometimes have a tendency to slip. I also use one of these for checking things close-up: http://www.amazon.co.uk/2-LED-Adjust.../dp/B00CBQ93CC

I would need to reach for the tablets, if I used one of those, Elaine.

Dennis, having just bought an iPad, I completely misunderstood that on first reading
