    Default Rose gold

Hope someone has the answer to this. Why does rose gold turn yellow? A customer has returned a rose gold ring I made last year as it is turning a yellow colour? Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is if somehow the surface copper has been depleted. Have they been wearing it in a swimming pool or similar?

(As you made it I'm assuming it isn't plated!)

I think Peter's right about the depletion. I've noticed if I overheat rose gold it becomes more yellow.

depletion gilding is bringing the purer metal (gold, in this case) to the surface - the only ways I can think of are to sand it back or re-melt with some more rose gold in the mix. I am sure there are chemical ways and other peeps will have better solutions.
