    Keep things at hobby level until you can consistently make it pay.
    I know self employment is hard, I've survived 20 years so far..keeping profit low as possible, though the bank doesn't understand these things if you want a loan
    It is tough, but if your going to struggle, I guess you might as well be doing something you like.

    I've done the self-employed thing for large chunks of my life. I have an aversion to jumping through loops. I'm used to penury, it keeps me thin

    Yep, I was doing fine as a singleton, but 3 young lads later things are abit challenging

    I figured. I was kidding.

    Though the other half did manage to put on some weight hoovering up the kids' leftovers

    I think it's cheaper to keep and run a racehorse than kids.

    lol - it was written with a sense partial churning! I only started eating it again a few years ago. Memories haunted for a long while of when it used on a daily basis to disguise my mother's cooking. I learned to appreciate the 'therapeutic' and stomach calming qualities it offered.

    I think my uncle won hands down on the stakes of disguising flavours. My aunt's (mother's sister) cooking was so bad he would use hp sauce, even with a pudding!
