    Hello Everyone,

    Thank you for all your beautiful sun inspired entries for our June competition, the winner will be announced on 05/07.

    The theme for our July competition is...

    Tropical

    Post your themed pieces within this thread with a little bit about the design and the winner will be revealed at the end of the month!

    The Winner will WIN a £100 shopping spree.

    A few legalities...

    Terms & conditions

    No purchase necessary. The closing date for the competition will be 31.07.2013. The winner will win a £100 inc. VAT shopping spree at www.cooksongold.com

    The judging process will take place on 03.08.2013. Our Silversmith Judging Panel will make the final decision.

    The Competition is open to all Cookson Precious Metals customers aged 18 years and over.

    Only one entry per person.

    There is no cash alternative. Cookson Precious Metals reserves the right to change the prize for one of equivalent value.

    The winner will be notified on the forum within this thread by 05.08.2013. The winner's name and county will be available by sending a stamped addressed envelope to: The Competition Secretary, Marketing Department Cookson Precious Metals, 59-83 Vittoria Street. Birmingham B1 3NZ.

    Employees of Cookson Precious Metals, their agents and families are excluded from the competition together with any person connected to the competition.

    Entry into the competition is deemed as acceptance of the rules. The winner agrees to participate in any publicity in connection with the competition.

    To enter the competition, simply publish your design/comment within this thread.

    No correspondence will be entered into. The judging panel's decision is final. The promoter is Cookson Precious Metals

    That's cute - was the cage welded or soldered with the pearl underwater?

    no i carefully soldered the rose gold heart section back in place once pear was inside, i covered pearl in thermo gel and rested it on 2 toothpics so it wasnt touching the metal, then crossed my fingers and prayed

    Very pretty. I have to say that with all that work, I do think it deserves a prettier bail and chain

    Not many entries this month!
    So how about a tropical bird, this is a bird of paradise and stands 230mm. high. The bird, flowers and leaves were all hand shaped by me from 0.70mm. thick 18ct. sheet, the colours are all hard fired enamels,the bird has saw pierced and plique a-jour enamelled tail feathers and it's eyes are set with cab rubies, the flower stamens are set with diamonds and the whole piece is mounted on a polished slab of rock crystal. I did not do the enamelling on this job, just the goldsmithing.

    Stunning as always James.

    Love the little heart cage as well.

    I love the themes each month - great for getting ideas flowing - just wish I had more time to make new things!
