William Kirk silversmith/engraver

I wasn't sure where to put this but thought it might be of interest to some of you and will you look at his tidy bench!! I remember him being absolutely fastidious. I would like to think that I learned at least a little from him during his time as one of my lecturers at ECA in the 70s but not so sure looking at his work

those little bowls are stunning. I bet they feel fabulous in the hand.

I don't know where all his work is but I would love to see some in the flesh. I can remember him working on a scroll case in the Dept that was for some Scottish event, heavily engraved and gem set. He was quiet and meticulous in everything he did and he made raising a vessel look so easy. I think I at least got my love of a fine finish from him so that's something!

Unfortunately at the time I don't think I was as aware as I should have been Jill, are we ever at 19? He was a patient man xx
