All the very best to you Wallace, redundancy was the push that took me to full time back in 2008 and I have never looked back. My very best piece of advice I can offer, boring it may be, is to get yourself a good accountant; every year I dread my accountants bill, but you have to consider it an investment in the business. I have just received an additional 7K from the tax dating back to 2008 so I consider the 500 euro well worth it.
    Happy times ahead.

thank you so much everyone. Your feedback is so very inspiring. I know this is going to be hard, and I am so totally up for that. I think I made need to change accountants, wow that was a good investment Les! I feel confident about my work, I am getting more interest, so things do seem to be onwards and upwards. Really, I can't thank you enough for your advice and genuine support, it is really graciously received.

    Garters at the ready!

It is scary leaving the confines of office life, but I couldn't go back to it now and am happy being responsible for my successes and failures. I do miss my work friends, but the forum(s) are a good substitute.

I wish you all the very best in your new venture and think you'll be very successful in your new self-employed life Wallace - Congratulations.
