Default Big Ring using a half marble

    Hi there.
Just thought I would show you all a ring I made as a Christmas present. She loved it! What do you think?

Just a thought, are they maybe too big to upload Didi? If they are can you reduce them? If not... maybe Peter our Mod can help out.

    Default Finally, photos attached

Trying again with smaller ones. This is almost as frustrating as trying to get the box to fit the curve of the ring!

That was well worth waiting for. Lovely work. How does the setting stay in the ring? Is it just friction?

Thank you all for your kind comments, as a 'self taught' it means such a lot to have positive feedback. Carolallen, Yes the fit is just friction. I made a bezel (I think 0.4mm) and made it higher than i would normally. That way, after I had cut and filed the 'petal' shapes, there would still be quite a bit to bend over the stone. I am wondering how it will hold up to wear and whether the 'petals' will snag. They feel smooth when you run your finger over them so Im hoping they will be ok. Do you think I should have made it more secure? - I'm worrying now. Massive learning curve for me. The recipient suggested that next time (ha ha ha) I should fit an LED and battery so it lights up!.
