    Default PMC is curling

    Hi all
    I need your help again
Was wondering if anyone could give me any tips, when I am firing PMC is always curling on the edges it is coming down but not the whole way. Every pendant is starting to look like a little boat. I was looking for some tips on internet but couldn't find anything
Thank you in advance for any tips

I think the trick is to ensure the piece is thick enough to start with, and if you're torch firing you need to flip over from time to time (with tweezers).

I'm no expert though, it's not a medium I like or get on with I'm afraid.

I torch fire mine and I find the thinner it is the more difficult it is. I turn it regularly throughout the firing process.

even kiln firing PMC will curl a bit if it's very thin. I usually make mine at least 2mm thick even though the design is such that a bit of curl and irregularity are welcomed.

I had this problem too when I first started working with PMC. Thicker pieces don't seem to curl as much but I just give them some gentle hits with a plastic mallet to flatten them out.
