thanks wallace No it wasn't that one, though I had planned on watching that one too. It was this video I watched.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e6Z9...eature=related. I found it after watching the Andrew Berry one on how to use an anticlastic stake that someone posted on another thread. It looked quite simple and I have some copper sheet that I use for practice pieces so thought I'd give it a go I fancy trying a leaf next as I watched another video on that the other day too I'd definately give it a go, I find hitting things with hammers very therapeutic

If you fancy making a copper leaf, take a look at the photo tutorial I prepared a while back, it has been posted on a couple of forums, check out the Ganoksin site here; http://www.ganoksin.com/borisat/nena...metal-leaf.htm

or it was also posted on this forum; http://www.guildofjewellerydesigners...d=15&Itemid=67

True to her word mum did send the gouge, it arrived yesterday, so I hacked out the dish shape from my oak stump and got to work on bashing the copper. I have a limited range of hammers and they were obviously not quite right but hmmm I was pretty pleased with it, I even gave it a little foot:

Thanks it was fun. Gonna give it a good scrubbing and throw some enamel over it by way of making it seem it was meant to be "arts and crafts" hahahhaha

Both copper bowls look great :-)

The comment "I find hitting things with hammers very therapeutic" made me smile ...... I'm with you on that one! At this time I'm overseeing the building of a house, working full time and acting as a carer to my mum who is living with us ..... getting to whack bits of metal is a great stress reliever ;-)

    Rachael/Kwant - both great bowls.

What thickness and size of copper did you start off with? Will you use the same thickness for your silver bowl?
