    Default Safety gloves

Hi there. I want to start melting down my scrap and him indoors insists I have safety gloves. Tried on some welders gauntlets and looked like a flowerpot man! (I couldn't even bend my elbows they were so big!) I do need to protect my hands as I'm a chiropractor in my other life. What do you use?

To be honest, I think wearing gloves is more dangerous than not wearing any as you have less control. As long as you're careful, there shouldn't be a problem. I think eye protection is more important and wearing proper closed in shoes.

I never wore gloves as a welder due to the fact they trap hot metal against your skin should any get
inside.where as no gloves gives the metal a chance to bounce off your skin with
maybe a few singed hairs.in seven years of forge work i got burnt
only a couple of times by actually grabbing hot metal thinking it had cooled.
