    Default File handles

I don't use files without handles - the risk of sticking the tang in myself is too great. However, I don't always have a handle, er, handy...

I do however have golf balls handy. Drill a 1/4" hole about 3/4 of the way into the ball (a drillpress is kind of useful for this) and seat the new handle on the tang of the file with a couple of persuasive whacks from a mallet.

I find the golf ball handles quite comfy in use - I regularly use them on files from 6" up (smaller than that and they can be a bit unwieldy); I've also used a couple as handles for prong pushers.

Well, at least it gives me a use for the things!

    Thumbs up Good idea

    Nic

I think I'm just going to have to go and get some champagne so I have a stash of corks 'to hand' when I need them

    Such a great idea

Why do I NEVER come up with these ideas and end up spending a fortune on things I don;t really need?!

True. They don't put corks in cider very often, lol!
